Rain Shower & Built-In Bathtub Remodel
At GI Construction, we recently completed a modern bathroom upgrade in Summerlin for Monique. The goal was simple: turn the bathing area into a true daily escape by pairing a spa-style rain shower with a built-in bathtub that feels clean, intentional, and high-end — without cluttering the room or sacrificing comfort.
The rain shower and built-in tub setup came out beautiful — it looks modern, feels like a spa, and completely changed the vibe of the bathroom.
The Vision
Monique wanted the bathing area to feel calm, elevated, and spa-inspired — the kind of bathroom that looks sharp in daylight and feels even better at the end of a long day. The priorities were a true rain shower experience (not just a standard showerhead) and a built-in bathtub that feels integrated into the room, not like an afterthought.
The overall direction leaned modern and clean: bright marble-look surfaces, a frameless glass enclosure to keep the shower visually open, and thoughtful details that add personality without overwhelming the space.
The Transformation
We built out a refreshed shower zone centered around a rain shower head, paired with a handheld sprayer for everyday flexibility. To keep the space feeling open while still defining the shower area, we installed frameless glass with clean hardware lines and a clear sightline across the room.
The shower walls were finished in large-format marble-look tile to create a seamless, upscale look with fewer grout lines. We also incorporated a recessed niche for storage and added a vertical accent strip to bring contrast and depth — a small design move that makes the shower feel custom.
Underfoot, the shower floor was completed with a pebble-style mosaic that adds texture and gives the space that high-end wet-area finish.
Next to the shower, we upgraded the bathing experience with a built-in bathtub wrapped in matching finishes, creating a cohesive “tub + shower” composition that feels intentional and balanced.
The tub deck and surround were finished cleanly to match the shower’s modern look and keep the overall space feeling bright and unified.
The Result
The finished bathroom now feels like a modern retreat: a true rain shower experience for that spa-like start (or end) to the day, and a built-in bathtub that looks polished, integrated, and comfortable.
With the crisp tilework, frameless glass, and upgraded finishes working together, the entire bathing area feels more open, more luxurious, and far more “finished” than a standard setup.
